I went to see Dunkirk earlier this week. Not the town but the film of the same title written and directed by Christopher Nolan. It is a remarkable piece of art but is it a good film? And is it historically accurate? And does that in fact matter? I went with a completely open mind and was determined to leave my historian’s hat firmly at the door. Trouble is, I went…
A great combination of film review, and accurate historical account.
Everyone I know who has seen this film tells me they have been underwhelmed, if not downright disappointed. I have told them all to watch this one, instead.

I have a couple saved up for R&V which say much the same thing. I’m so bored with the film now, I’m not even sure I’ll bother to reblog them! I must watch the 1958 one again.
