  1. Caroline was undoubtedly treated badly by a husband who had been allowed to do as he liked, and had never really accepted responsibility for his actions. Given the scandals and outrageous behaviour in the Regency court, it seems as if ‘Blackadder’ wasn’t too far off the mark.
