One of the top actors of his day, Booth assassinated President Lincoln on April 14, 1865, before being killed himself. But Booth had quite a journey on the way to death.

  1. Whatever is thought of the act that earned him his notoriety, I have some respect for a man who believed in something, and was prepared to carry it through although it meant his own demise. Unlike some of the more ‘crazed’ assassins in history, he at least did what he did in support of a cause.
    (Though I doubt my opinion will be popular.)
