
The unit was raised mainly from St John-trained men from across the south Wales coalfields – Amman, Garw, Ogmore Vale and Rhondda valleys and Gwent

As someone who worked as a civilian EMT for over twenty years, I can still barely imagine the horrors that these brave men went through. The sights they must have seen undoubtedly left them scarred mentally, as well as the physical injuries suffered my many too.
