  1. I remember Round The Horne with such fondness. As Londoners, we knew about Polari, and even incorporated some words, especially ‘Bona’ into our everyday speech. Despite being illegal, homosexuality was well-tolerated in working class London. Drag acts in pubs were very popular, and one of the first live entertainments I can recall seeing as a youngster.
