  1. I first discovered Bader’s story in the film ‘Reach for the Sky’ (1956), where he was portrayed by Kenneth More. It was many years later that I took time to read about the man himself, and later still when I saw him interviewed on TV. He came across as such a nice gentleman, and truly embodied the spirit of his age.
