Robert Borboro of Cross Creek RV Park north of Acadia, Fla. served the better part of two years in Korea during the war. It’s been 60 years since he was a corporal in the 97th Engineering Battalion attached to the 1st Infantry Division based at Young Dong Po and his memory is not what it once was.

Even so he recalls some poignant times as a teenage soldier a long way away from home a long time ago:

  1. It seems that they spent a fair amount of time arguing and shooting each other over there! Nice to hear the story of someone who just did his job, and tried to avoid getting into the action. Glad he made it home in one piece.
