The Real England is a concise, direct, and not-so-gentle window into the depths of the leftovers of the world’s once greatest empire. It is told from the perspective of one lone (or not so lone) long term visitor. It informs one of the dregs of the country and helps to explain quaint British oddities such as the crack addicted chav.

I suppose I should (reluctantly) thank him. Forty years a smoker, followed by nicotine replacement therapy ‘vapour cigarettes’. (One in my hand as I type).
I remember the very funny Newhart sketch. He did some excellent monologues.
Best wishes, Pete.

I’ve tried off and on to quit but without success. It’s my only vice!

I use these, and have never looked back. http://www.nicolites.com/home
I would find it hard to afford my old cigarettes now, (Lucky Strike) almost £9 for 20! I went from 40 a day to none, overnight. Mind you, I probably couldn’t give these up now, but they only contain glycerol and nicotine, so no other chemicals, smoke, or smell. And they are a fraction of the price (I spend about £25 a week) once you have bought the batteries and chargers up front. Plus- you can smoke them in some restaurants and pubs too!

Aha. They may be worth trying. Thank you very much for the information. The trouble is that cigarettes are cheaper over here!
